Coco Chanel

Coco Chanel during one of her infamous inspections the night before a collection was shown. “[The models] had to endure interminable fittings without uttering a syllable, knowing only too well that Chanel would have remained deaf to their protests, deaf also to their fatigue and that of the tailors, while yet again she undid a jacket, cutting the stitches of an armhole that she would then redo right on the mannequin, using pins to reposition it point by point, all stuck in with an almost demonic thrust — and equally deaf to everything but the creative process that slowly was leading toward perfection.” Photo and quote from Chanel and Her World by Edmonde Charles-Roux.
